Adapt condition and perspire (one)

Adapt Condition & Perspire (One)
The downfall of a man is definitely not the end of his life, ditto to the sugar in our tea, women or ladies as they often favor the latter, are unequivocally in these league of man, for the simple fact that, man as it is use in this context it’s the compound name of all living beings, be it the homosapiens or their closest ally, in the lion den the struggle of the dominant female lion persist until she fight to keep her pride together, the same thing for a husband who is the bread winner and savor the entire moment of his life keeping the family abreast of all odds but when the tides turn and start to fall apart, those that have been through the rough edges will have to adapt. Ifey found himself in a precarious situation, sitting under a big palm tree, leg in a juxtapose position almost falling from his wreck chair. One look at ifey suggest something is not rightwith him, though his man with few words with a lot of action, some villagers passing by who knew him argue that his cocoa plantation has not germinate for some months. In a year that have been season of doom for his lifestyle, some of the towns people remember how ifey the if and only if of cocoa money spend lavishly his unknown to him little village money that can only cater for him and his light in complexion tall figure looking extremely mosquitoes skin free wife, quite a number of the villagers have been asking around about the down fall of ifey without getting concrete answer, others deduce he was into advance fee fraud, ifey is the only man that school outside the village, hence this make them assume he was into fraud coupled with the hefty caliber of men that contact him, in his village when physically built men visit you regularly people start to get curious and the occupation of those men will be under question, show me your friend and I will tell you who you are, is the look on the native. Ifey lives in a society where people jump into the misfortunes of others all in a bid to ascertain the magnitude of such terrible situation, but for the umpteen time townspeople are still curious about ifey’s problem if there is any at all, but all these assumption are just base on mere rumors most often people fabricate story that they know nothing about, as for the rumor monger there is a slim chance that the story about ifey cocoa plantation not germinating might be true, close to ifey farm bassey one of the local stand on a concrete useful foot bridge that helps townsfolk to cross over the stream he tap his foot on the bridge ‘Abasi ha yaya o ha yaya’ he says ‘God is handsome, for him to metaphysically convince the multi-national company to build for us this modern foot bridge’ the native says, building the bridge comes with is shortcomings. It slope down to ifey’s cash crop Bassey must have notice this as well; in his peculiar manner he stroll down to the end of the bridge which is quite far and find out it was all concrete perhaps he now knows why ifey’s plantation has not germinate. He went straight to his house and met him in a sober mood, ifey my man the if and only if of cocoa money, how are you coping with this dull season? Bassey asked. Bassey my friend as you can see this is not a happy time for me’ he says ‘is not only you the whole village is dry’ he try to encourage ifey not to lose hope, but ifey already knew is not all the villagers that are in this type of situation the he found himself, those that are making money from their cash crop are smiling to the bank; but he has make up his mind ‘I am leaving this town’ he says ‘ you always leave town at least once in a month to visit some of your big friends in the city’ bassey point out ‘ yes, but this time I am leaving for good’ ifey disclose. ‘I can see, you really want to leave your misery behind if I can put it that way” Bassey remark ‘you know the kind of life live in this village, I can’t stand being broke ifey says. ‘if I were you I’ll adjust to the situation’ Bassey suggest. ‘Adjust…. Bassey Bassey you know me too well, when I have money I spend it all without thinking of tomorrow; so adjust to the villagers way of living is not the solution’ ifey disclose ‘well then, I cannot but comply with your idea of leaving, but remember me when your elbow is finally grease with wealth from the city’ Bassey says ‘put your mind at rest I’m not the type that forget friends when his hand is full of money’ he clarify.

In a mid day quiet atmosphere outside the hustling and bustling of the urban area, stand a young teenage boy in a boarding school looking pale and exhausted, it has really been a long day after going through lengthy period in school. The bell rang ‘is break time’ shouted the prefect time keeper ‘before the prefect say that Elliot and his peer already ran out of the class to play soccer at the mini football field just outside their school the school gate was lock quiet alright but they found their way outside through the broken fence next to the football field, that’s why many of them repeat their junior class, that surely affect them psychologically especially Elliot, he fell sick a week to their promotional exam, his not the of student that jump the fence during school hour and went on to watch soccer at the mini soccer field well that’s because the very day he jump the fence he was caught, the same cannot be said for his peer group who every now and then miss their class to watch football, Elliot himself is not a saint occasionally he went with his friend to play soccer at the football field while class is still going on. Definitely not everybody will disobey the school rules and regulations, for the good and God fearing student the cafeteria and kiosk is their point of call, whether you have cash or not just stay put by the kiosk and pray in your mind that those with cash will you in mind to share their stuff or cash with you, for the student that sit on the fence the garden is their point of prayer, you hear them preach every time for the bad student to change their way of life for the better and come to fellowship with them under the tree, the boys just ignore them with one look; off to the football pitch they go, but this time they don’t have to jump the fence, because is lunch break hour, but those lad can play to the admiration of the fellow student and their teachers even the student that sit on the fence the preaching student to be precise also enjoys these matches they play, so somehow is confusing if the student that sit on the fence enjoys these mischievous boys playing soccer; why then preach to them not to jump the fence or play soccer during lunch break hour. The students playing also know this that’s probably why they ignore their preaching. All eyes is now on Elliot he came as a substitute this is his time to shine, one of the player give him the ball pass the ball back! Shouted the student, Elliot could not pass the ball he collapse right on the field of play. The next day his classmate were told Elliot fall into coma, all the student in class starts murmuring, then one of them stood up ‘blood of Jesus’ she says. ‘No sons or daughters of you shall dwindle in lion den’ says one of the preaching student ‘shall we rise and pray for our colleague’.

Countless moons have passed before Elliot regains consciousness. When he return to class Elliot way of life looks strange to his classmate physically his still weak but he cannot face the humiliation of repeating junior class twice, he brace up for the challenges ahead of him he erroneously think things he was doing before he fell into coma will make him weak the more, instead he chose to hung out with the mischievous guys, that make physically strong quiet alright but his school work was declining, it was stupid of him for being lackadaisical for his education; sighting his former classmate who are now ahead of him somehow makes him lose confidence in his own education to the point of almost dropping out of school, that’s the heavy burden he carried in his hearth every day. But succor came to him somehow he just live his life as it come taking it one step at a time, something in his mind still tell him his the type that grab opportunities when it comes his way. The opportunity that came right to him is a nasty one, the type that if God forgives someone somewhere will definitely not forgive. Jasmine climbs the staircase formerly known as Mr. Jacob father of one child but now has third gender a full grown transgender lady on the staircase with Elliot he always have the bad habit of flirting around no thank to his peer group that influence him, a particular statement he keep in his mind and probably will not forget is ‘if you don’t have money you can’t have a fulfill life’ it is somehow obscure as to how the statement is applicable to what his about to achieve. Elliot continue to walk down the stairs like a serial cheater but in a deviate manner body check is in and out right now snide look just occur naturally between them they just do have a word to utter jasmine ignore whatever Elliot have in his head without doubt he is serial, he went in with jasmine what happen between them is best known among the two of them. After all silent and done he went straight to the cyber café; ifey who is now a computer operator gave him one hour ticket time to browse the internet. The only website he surf through is a lottery world wide web ‘you really like money’ said ifey ‘what did you say? Elliot asked when you surf the internet the only website you check is the lottery site’ said ifey ‘yes money is so important in life if you don’t have it you will be inferior’ Elliot point out ‘ you read my mind life is all about money and procreation’ ifey added.
